As I always say, South Indian food is much more than Idli-dosa-Sambhar. I have been a fan of Mangalore and kerala cuisine since the day I tasted Neer dosa, appam and stew from Swagath. It was ordered in office long back and since then, have ordered them a number of times at a number of places. However, no other place till now has been able to match the standards of Swagath. The restaurant might be famous for sea food but they offer mouth watering vegetarian items in their menu too. This time three of us ordered steamed wantons, Appam with veg stew, neer dosa, veg gassi and malabar parontha. Wontons came with ginger and spring onion gravy in soya sauce and were absolutely lip smacking. Can certainly order them again next time. Neer dosa was big and melt in mouth. Especially with veg Gassi, it tasted awesome. Veg stew was one of the best you get in Gurgaon- not too bland, just the right amount of coconut in the gravy. We literally finished the stew till last drop. Hero dish of the day for all of us was Malabar paratha. I am not a big fan but this time enjoyed a lot. We were literally overstuffed but kept on eating till food was over. Only average experience for the friend was his fish dish (don't recall the name) which was way too dry for him. However, restaurant manager didn't charge for it. I believe if they redo the interiors a bit, they will certainly be preferred choice for families in sector 29. #hereartigoes

One of my friends being quite keen especially on the Swagath Gurgaon outlet, we drove quite a bit to get here. Having heard such praises from him, I was expecting much more but had quite an average experience. The ambience of the place is decent. We went during the day time, however, my friend suggested that the garden adjoining the restaurant is done up very prettily during the evenings. I don't quite remember what exactly we'd ordered but to the best of my memory, it was their Kadi Patta Surmai (Boneless) as well as a veg Chettinad dish. Something which is quite rare, I preferred the veg over the non-veg dish. The fish wasn't to my liking at all. The veg dish was still above average. The Malabari paranthas which we ordered alongside were quite nice though. The place is quite overpriced too. Wouldn't want to visit again.

had team lunch yesterday. i thought swagat would be fine dining, but on my contrary, ambiance is very poor just like road side small restaurant. walls were very dirty, low standard tables and chairs. When you look at the menu card, then only you will know that in this pathetic ambiance, they have courage to charge you 295INR for virgin mojito. lol. We ordered non veg platter and veg platter. mutton seek kabab were stinking and stale. even chicken was not up to the mark. although in main course, rara chicken and malabari parantha were good but starter were just waste of money. Staff and service was good but they have to improve a lot in ambiance and food presentation as well.

This place is famous for its indian food. Have been to ther noida branch as well which is way better than the one in Gurgaon. The dal makhni was nice but paneer in the paneer butter masala was hard and did not seem fresh. Also the service is very slow and the garlic quantity in the food was so high that there was no other taste in the food. The butter naan was really soft and worth having

Think twice. Food not great. Plus they are so over-priced. We started with soup and platter. But we were so disappointed that we just skipped with the main course altogether.
